Obituary of Bernie Frankowski

With sad hearts, many happy memories, and lots of laughs, our family announces the sudden passing of Bernie Frankowski, late of Regina, SK on Saturday, June 10, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents John and Jmelda Frankowski; brother Alfonse (Judy); sister Sonya Chalmers; sister-in law Carol Kincaid; and brother in-law Grant Boswell. Bernie is survived by his wife Susan, his high school sweetheart; children, Tasha/aka Dottie (Jesse) Gibbs and Shaun/aka Baby Buffalo (SueEllen) Frankowski; grandchildren, Gavin and Hudson Gibbs and Felicity and Peyton (aka baby buffalo in training) Frankowski; sisters, Angela, Ursula (Ray), Elona (Wayne) and Anita; brother John (Gwen); in-laws, Doug (Chalmers), Darrell Kincaid, Debra Boswell, Stewart (Georgia) Boswell, Anita (Kevin) Schmidt, and Cori (Steve) Scholz; as well as many other extended family and very dear friends. After retiring from Ipsco (Evraz), Bernie planned our retirement and off we went to Comox for our next adventure. After 5 years, we headed back home to Regina where it all began. Bernie loved playing canasta, crib, checkers and his new favourite, Mexican train. He enjoyed reading, swimming, sports, music, good food, and just being at home. Bernie’s greatest joy was attending all the grandkids’ activities. He liked to push people’s buttons to get the biggest reaction he could (with a big smile on his face). Bernie was a kind and caring Husband, Dad and Opa. He will be deeply missed by all and has taken a big piece of our hearts with him. “Wherever there is love, there is grief, a life without it is unthinkable”. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
