Our deepest condolences to you Elaine, your family and friends as we learn of Mike’s passing.
I met Mike through my dad, Eugene Gartner, as he along with Eugene Gazda would spend countless precious hours together.
While I personally didn’t get the pleasure and honor of getting to know Mike as well as many who did, what I did come to know about him through my father was that Mike was a devoted family man, an honest, intelligent man with a kind heart and soul and someone who was a true friend to my dad and many others.
Whether the three of them were meeting at the Southland Mall food court for coffee, a belly laugh or two and a friendly catchup on their weekly activities or one of their many forays into the backroads, prairie trails and harvested grain fields in Eugene Gazda’s pickup truck around Lumsden, Craven and surrounding areas - the three of them enjoyed many happy memories together and through their mutual sense of adventure a strong bond was forged to last an eternity.
I am sure right now they are planning their next country adventure and are going over the list of snacks and drinks to take along just in case they linger a little longer than usual.
Ps: Don’t forget the binoculars.
