Obituary of Mike James Baryluk

BARYLUK, Mike James

1927 – 2023

With great sadness, the family would like to announce the passing of Mike James Baryluk, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 95 years, with family by his side.

He was born August 21, 1927, in Bienfait, SK.

Mike married Elaine Turk on October 5, 1953, and they enjoyed 69 years together.

He worked his way up as the Foreman of the maintenance section of the CNR from 1943-1986, in Bienfait.  After retirement Elaine and Mike started a cleaning service called M and E Janitorial Services and cleaned at Estevan Generating Station for 7 years. He volunteered his time as an Honorary Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, General Manager and Treasurer of the Bienfait Coalers Hockey Team, a Bienfait Town Counsellor, and the Bienfait Heritage Housing Authority.

Mike was predeceased by parents Stephen and Sophia (Venechuk) Baryluk; and Siblings, Joseph, Anne, Peter, Caroline, Paul, John, Wasil, Mary, and Stephen.  He is survived by his loving Wife of 69 plus years, Elaine; Siblings, Rose, William and Sophia; Daughters, Noel (Patrick) Kish, Stasia Perkins (Brent Syme), Kathleen (David) Halldorson; his Grandchildren and Great grand-children, Mike (Nikki) Kish: Veda, Emmit and Rafe, Jesse (Pamela) Kish: Brooklyn and Jett, Magnum Kish (Erin Fieger): Keyver, Cayden and Myka, Tyler (Nicole) Perkins: Tyson and Alexis, Tanner (Alyssa) Perkins: Kaedin and Rhett, Amy (Matt) Halldorson:  Abigail, Dan (Samantha) Halldorson: Leia; as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Regina Health Foundation, 1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 4B3 or Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care, Caring Hearts, 200-2150 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 2H7.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Martin’s de Porres Roman Catholic Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
