Obituary of Gordon McClune Nicol

Gordon Nicol November 14, 1936 – December 31, 2014 Gordon, late of Regina, SK, passed away after a long illness at the age of 78 years. Gordon was born in Trevor, Wales. He loved the Welsh countryside and told many tales of “Wild Wales”. After completing his secondary education Gordon attended The University of Glasgow, and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. During this time he met and married his wife, Joyce. They immigrated to Canada in 1966. Gordon enjoyed his career as an engineer, working for the government of Saskatchewan. He later helped create a roof management company that brought him great professional and personal satisfaction. Gordon had a great deal of love for his family, and canine companion, Baxter. He was known for his humility, humour and kindness. He was passionate about sports, particularly soccer. Gordon is predeceased by his parents John and Mae Nicol; his wife of 46 years, Joyce, and his daughter in law, Marcy. Gordon is survived by his children; Shirley Nicol, Kenneth Nicol, Judith Koch (Kal), Adrienne Larsen (Tony) and Gareth Nicol; four grandchildren, Tyler (Allie) and Andrew Larsen, Capri and Sophia Koch; and several cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Laursen and the staff at the Brightwater Senior Living care facility. Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina on Monday January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brad Childs officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers friends can make donations, in Gordon’s memory, to the SPCA, c/o Regina Humane Society, P.O.
