Roberta was a dear and close friend to my late wife and fellow nurse Else and I had the pleasure of meeting Roberta through Else. Roberta had a very healthy attitude to life and was always positive to what life might offer.
I thanked Roberta for helping to introduce me to another wounderful person who has become a very close friend of mine.

Our sincere condolences to all the family; we knew how she cherished you.
Roberta also had a place in the hearts of very many people.
My own connection was the U of R Book Club and previous to that, the opera - we even traveled together to Saskatoon when there were no more operas in Regina.
Aunt Maida and I worked side by side to accommodate and help settle a large family of Vietnamese boat people.
There is also the Dutch connection: she had fond memories of Holland.
If you were puzzled by the Dutch old cheese, her favourite, left in her mailbox...
Roberta had said she would phone me after the tests, I thought that might be difficult so I left that for her without ringing the bell.
Hence the phone call.
The adjustment will be difficult but she will remain a part of you- I know that because we just lost a son to cancer, last April 27, and we don't have to call up the memories, they are always there.
Sincerely,
Ann van Vliet.

It was with much sadness that I read of the recent passing of Roberta. For many years, I was her family physician and it was an honour and a privilege to look after her. Despite her health problems, she never complained and was always very positive. She was a role model for all people with disabilities. Please keep me informed of any celebration of her life as I would very much like to attend...Dr. Ian Hill. I worked with Roberta very closely when I worked at the Plains Health Centre. She was always so grounded in her thinking and practical but optimistic that changes could be made effectively. Roberta worked along side of us, not above us. These were outstanding qualities and we loved her for them...Elaine Hill

My sincere thoughts, prayers and condolences to Roberta's family at this sad time. I used to work for Roberta at the Plains Health Center in the 90's. She was the fairest, kindest most intelligent boss I have ever worked for. She supported me when I decided to go into nursing in my thirties, showing up at my place with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on my graduation day. She played a great role in getting me my first nursing job at the Plains Health Center where I got the best grounding a new nurse could ever have. Roberta was indeed a remarkable lady and will be sadly missed although her legacy will live forever.
