Obituary of Christine Dayman

CHRISTINE DAYMAN (nee Fisher) Christine passed away peacefully on January 27, 2015 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre at the age of 69 years. Christine was born on February 13, 1945 at Eriksdale, Manitoba to parents, George and Annie Fisher. The family moved to Peebles, Saskatchewan in 1946. Christine attended Peebles and Windthorst Schools and graduated in 1963. In her youth, Christine expressed her desire to place her life in the hands of her Maker, whom she faithfully loved and served until her life’s close. Her deep trust and faith in her Lord sustained her through her many years of poor health. After spending several years caring for her mother, in 1966, Christine enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. In 1968 she answered a call and began in the ministry of the Gospel and spent several years in Saskatchewan before a further call took her to Paraguay, SA in 1975. She spent six years in the ministry in Paraguay. In August of 1995, Christine and Gordon Dayman were united in Marriage in Regina. Their early days were filled with much love, hope and promise. Unfortunately, eight months later Christine suffered a brain aneurysm break which required hospital care for several months and left her somewhat handicapped. She and Gordon were able to take a trip to Paraguay, but shortly after returning Christine suffered another stroke making it necessary for her to spend the remainder of her days hospitalized in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Gordon tended to her with great love and care and was daily at her side until his passing in 2011. Despite her health problems, Christine always had a cheerful and peaceful attitude and a ready smile. Christine was predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon in 2011; her father George in 2009; and her mother Annie in 1967. She is survived by her brother, Robert Fisher of Peebles; her sister-in-law, Linda Fisher of Regina; her nieces, Lanna Fisher of Vernon, BC and Laura (Randy) Bergh of Forman, ND; her nephew Wayne Fisher of Britton, SD; great-nephew and great-niece, Tyrone and Kiauna Bergh; her step-mother Evelyn Fisher of Moosomin, SK; Gordon’s family, Barry (Pat) Dayman and family, Elaine (Christian) Kibsgaard and family, Electa (Leslie) Stephens and family, Nancy (Archie) Sim and family; as well as many cousins and special friends.
