As a former Hound from many years ago, and from the same hometown as Jim Williams, I was saddened to hear of this passing. The one year I spent at Notre Dame, way back in the 50's, is so special in my life. I know how much he meant to Notre Dame and how much he will be missed.

Jimmy,
My entire childhood is filled with funny and loving memories of you. You are such an integral part of our family, your legacy will live on forever in our hearts. There is always a "Jimmy" quote every day and will continue to be. There was no one like you Jimmy nor will there ever be. I am so blessed for having you in my life. You taught me more than you know....even in the hospital you continued to give me your advice. I know God needed you and I thank him for having you go peacefully on your terms....as it should be.... But i gotta tell ya buddy my heart hurts....I will miss you every day until I see you again...down the hiway....

Jim was one of the nicest kindest souls I have known. He was a long time friend and customer and the Book & Brier Patch. His weekly visits will be sorely missed by myself and John Kress. We will miss his humor as well, he really was one of a kind.

We would like to offer our condolences to the Notre Dame Family in the lose of a great person who touched so many people with his kindness. The future generations will have no idea of what they are missing by Jimmy no longer being with us. He will no longer be playing Tebetan chants in Varsity so students would return his beloved books before leaving for summer break.
Our thoughts are with all of you as we know each one of us will miss Jimmy in a different way.
