To Father Peter’s family,
Today I was sorting through old photos and keepsakes, and I discovered the obituary notice from my father’s funeral in May 2002. My Dad, Jack Thompson, attended the Spring Valley Catholic Church for many years and I often attended with him when I returned home for a visit. Father Peter was one of his favourite priests and they developed a friendship that my Dad appreciated very much. When my Dad became ill early in 2002, I was able to locate Father Peter in Regina and he visited my Dad several times in hospital before he passed away. Father Peter also agreed to perform Dad’s funeral mass. We were immensely grateful for the kindness and concern he showed us during this difficult time, as we knew he was dealing with health issues of his own.
Today I discovered that Father Peter has passed away also. I wish I had known sooner, but wish to send my condolences at this time.
I have thought of him fondly over the years and will say a prayer for his memory.
