I am incredibly sorry for the loss of your husband and father, Joe. Words cannot express how my heart hurts for you. I always enjoyed when Brenda would tell our year one hygiene class stories about her husband, and could sense the overwhelming love she felt for him in addition to Jamie. Know that you are loved and prayed for in this time of sorrow- the hygiene class of 2016 wishes that many of us could be in Regina to attend the service. One of the things that I was most looking forward to when I came to work in General Claims back in 2006 was to work with Joe again. Unfortunately, that never came to be as he became ill just before I transferred over.
Joe Scarfe is one of those people that you loved to be around. A super great guy!! His dry sense of humor, that smile, mischievious grin, and his laugh are things that I will fondly remember. He was so much fun! He was a great friend, and a wonderful, loving husband and father to Brenda and Jamie. I can still remember him bringing Jamie in to the office to visit us when she was a baby. Such a proud Dad he was. Rest in peace Joe. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Brenda, Jamie, family and friends. He will truly be missed.

Brenda,
I was deeply saddened by the news of Joe's death. Although I have not seen you for a while, I remember our many visits at the store and Joe's wonderful smile and witty comments as you tried on clothes to your hearts content. He was always kind, gentle and patient. I only saw him once with Jamie- but she squealed with delight as he carried her on his shoulders. A truly wonderful man. He will be much missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Brenda and Jamie,
I am so very, very sorry to hear that Joe has passed away. Nadine Heatherington let me know. As I read his obituary, it is gratifying to read that his life was filled to the brim with so many beautiful moments with his family.
I worked with Joe at SGI Saskatoon for 4 years, 1988-1992, in the Estimating Department. Working with all the guys and gals in that "bubble" is one of my favourite memories, and the personalities in that office will be with me forever! I don't think Joe was ever in a "less than happy" mood - and I distinctly remember his "all knowing" grin, his dry humour, his respect for everyone in the office and an obvious 'brotherhood' with the guys he worked with. Above all, I remember his kindness. I was the 'new kid on the block' and he always made me feel 'at home.'
I feel very honoured to have known Joe. My prayers are with you all.

Sending along caring thoughts as I remember Joe as one of the many bright spots in my time at Sunset United. I so enjoyed our chats when he'd drop by the church office usually after we had shared a wave as I passed him walking with a "cute, girly" backpack on alongside his pride and joy on the way to her school down the street. It always made me smile, and I will smile as I remember Joe in the days ahead.
