Elizabeth Debienne

Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Debienne

ELIZABETH ANNE DEBIENNE It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Betty Debienne on July 21, 2015. Born Elizabeth Anne Bourquin in Estevan on November 11, 1915, Betty had a rich and fulfilled life. She loved being a wife to Paul and mother to Norm (Jan) and Ray (Joanne), grandmother to Michelle, Dean, Greg and Chantelle and great-grandmother of eight. She loved being a teacher. She earned her teaching certificate in 1955 and her BEd in 1966. Her dedication to this career was soon rewarded as she was first appointed as a Regina Board of Education consultant and later principal of Dieppe and Birchwood schools. She loved retirement and she and Paul travelled extensively. When she finally slowed to a brisk walk her years at College Park Retirement Residence opened another set of experiences. Always in the picture was a circle of good friends who were an important part of the threads of her life. We ask you to celebrate Betty’s life in your own way as there will be no public service. Flowers most gratefully declined and friends may make a donation in memory of Betty, to a charity of choice. An on-line book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
