Claudette Boyer

Obituary of Claudette Simone Boyer

Claudette (Clo) Simone Boyer (Mailhot) passed away on September 7th, 2015 at the age of 72 in Regina, SK. She was born in Gravelbourg, SK to Simon and Rose Mailhot on December 8, 1942. After graduating from high school in this small prairie town, she received a scholarship to Normal School in Québec to study teaching. In June 1960, she married her husband of fifty-three years, Nelson. Together they raised three children. Their biggest adventure as a young family was living in Sénégal, Africa for five years during which time they also travelled throughout Europe. Upon returning to Canada, Claudette received her secretarial certificate. She juggled full-time work and taking care of her family until her retirement. Clo loved dancing, gardening (especially her rose garden), creating graphic art on the computer, and baking jam-jams and buns. She was always thoughtful of people around her and prepared unique care packages to send to her children, sisters and many others. Claudette leaves behind her husband Nelson; two children Marc and Yolande; two grandchildren Aubrie and Rémie and three siblings Georges, Sue and Michelle. She is preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Eddy; her eldest daughter, Christine and her granddaughter, Clare. Nelson wishes to extend his gratitude to the Oncology Ward staff and the Pastoral volunteers at Pasqua Hospital for their care of Claudette during her brief stay at the hospital. He would also like to thank his family and friends, and particularly his neighbours on Krivel, who have supported them. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s R.C.
