WILLIAM JAMES HENRY POOLE Reg. No. 15310, ex-Sgt. William (Bill) J.H. Born January 28, 1929 near Moose Jaw, SK and died December 24, 2015 in Regina, SK. He was predeceased by his parents, son and brother. Bill is survived by Greta, his beloved wife of 61 years, by their daughter Lynn (Ray), Toronto and niece Jane (Claude), Ottawa. In April 1954 Bill and Greta Bennet Lynch were married in the RCMP Chapel. In June 1954 they were posted to Europe to assist the Department of Immigration with the screening of would-be immigrants to Canada. Both Lynn and Robert were born in Europe. In October 1961, the family returned to Ottawa where Bill continued his work in counter espionage. He retired from the RCMP in 1967 and joined another federal department in Ottawa where he served for 22 years before retiring in 1989. In 2001, they moved to Regina. Bill enjoyed his life and thought of it as having provided a satisfying balance of success and failure, comedies and tragedies. He was a man of integrity. He was a devoted father who imparted in a loving way, the importance of good character and doing a job well. We wish to express our appreciation to the staff of College Park II 2nd Floor; Dr. Lyster and the nurses at the Pasqua Hospital for their understanding and patient care. We were especially grateful for the kindness and personal compassion the staff at the William Booth Grace Hospice gave to us. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of donations to a favorite charity.
