Well Tom, our brother in harmony and close friend, with you at the helm, our quartet has been blessed with a great 'RUN..!' From our first performance February 2009, to our last farewell performance at the Chorus’ Christmas party, December 21, 2015, our time together has been epic. Tom, over the last seven years you’ve inspired us, managing our bookings, and hosted practices and fellowship meetings in your home. You scouted out and arranged the majority of our gigs. Our experiences have resulted in permanent memories as an accomplished quartet and life-long friends. We’ve shared many stage experiences that most people can only dream of, creating a chapter in our personal books entitled: 'Some of the best times of our lives!'
Among the many highlights we experienced with you, Tom, these stand out:
* Top quartet, NW Land O Lakes Chapter, Winnipeg Competition, 2009.
* Christmas with Rory at Casino Regina 2009.
* A week-long, three-a-day performance at the Regina Queen City Exhibition 2012.
* Our first Harmony University saw us drive to St. Joseph, Missouri in 2013 where we sang with amazing people, especially a group of young men in a Fargo hotel bar. Remember that hilarious food stop at a red-neck restaurant on the way back and the looks we got when they spotted the undisputed bling-king of all time?
* Our second Harmony University saw us fly to Nashville, Tennessee in 2014 with nine other fellow Chorus members where we sang a cappella songs on a downtown street corner of Music City with fellow barber shoppers from South Carolina.
* Feature quartet at the Dauphin, Manitoba Spring Barbershop Show 2014.
*The most relaxing and spiritually rewarding were the countless sing-outs at retirement homes, schools or private homes.
You made the world a better place Tom. We miss you. We love you buddy!!
Your Brothers in Harmony,
Bill, Darrell, and Gord

Steve, Dean, Danny, Neil, Doris and Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences with your loss. As a quartet, we were blessed with the opportunity to know and to love Tom over the past seven years. We discovered what you knew all along, and that is that Tom made a huge difference in the world, and he had a positive impact on all who knew him. He brought harmony to the world in more ways than one. Tom lived a full life and lived every minute to the fullest while he was with us. You must feel proud of the man Tom was, and how well he fulfilled his role as a son, a father, a grandfather, and a brother, but most of all, as a supportive and loving partner of almost 50 years to his beautiful wife Elaine.
As with you, we love Tom and we'll miss him. Through this difficult time, please cherish the wonderful memories of Tom's life and of our time with him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, always.
Tom's Brothers in Harmony,
Bill, Darrell, and Gord

To all the Balkwill Family,
We were saddened to hear of Tom's death, particularly at this time of year. No matter how ill someone is, it is always difficult to say goodbye. We have fond memories of family gatherings from many years ago, with the Durham Drive Gang. Elaine and Tom were always so welcoming, and we loved the time we spent at the cottage at Katepwa, camping out for the July 1st weekend. Tom was a special, talented, loving family man and we know he will be missed not only by his extended family, but also by a large circle of friends.

To all the Balkwill family.....Tom's sons and grandchildren; Uncle Neil; Aunt Doris; Chris & Kim; Marilyn & Phil. We were deeply saddened by hearing of Tom's graduation to eternity. Not for him, but for all those left here to mourn his loss. He is no longer in pain and illness. He is with his precious wife in Father's presence. We have been praying for you often since we heard of his going into palliative care. We will continue to lift you up in prayer during these difficult days. With much love...Keith and Ila

My condolences to all the Balkwill family. I knew both your Mom and Dad over the years, first meeting them years ago with the Rowdy Gang and Pete`s Posse and then stayed connected as my girls (Claire and Hannah) progressed through the performing groups at Saskatchewan Express. I will always remember your Dad with great fondness, he had a generous spirit and a wonderful joy about him. My thoughts are with you. - Dallas Castle
