Obituary of David Harold Gourlie

With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, David Gourlie, on Friday, January 15, 2016. David was predeceased by his parents Harold and Joan Gourlie. He is survived by his wife Cathy, sons Matthew and Martin, sister Christine Tickell, brother Bryan Gourlie (Joan), nephew Tim Bradley (Georgette) and niece Sarah Tickell (Jay Kirland). He is also survived by brothers-in-law Len (Carole), George (Judith) and Lorne (Mary) Fisher; sister-in-law Ellen Darby and nieces and nephews. David was born in Winnipeg and moved to Regina at age 10, living the rest of his life in Regina. He convocated from the University of Saskatchewan Regina Campus in 1968. After graduation he worked at the university library until his retirement in 2003. David will be remembered for his love and encyclopaedic knowledge of music, sports and movies that were shared with all who knew him. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. A family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in memory of David, to the Eye Centre, c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or the Renal Unit, c/o Regina General Hospital, 1440 – 14th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0W5.
