Sincerest condolences to Grace's family and close friends. I knew the family well through the tennis club in Regina in the 60s and 70s and also Grace at the University of Regina. Enthusiasm in her academics was exceeded only by her love of family. Fortunately we had a visit with her last summer when she hosted a wonderful reception for her daughter Kim and her husband Bruce, as well as the rest of her children and friends and relatives. A life well lived.

Although I do not know anyone in her family. I would like to express my sympathy about your loss of Grace. I worked with her in the early days at the University. We were building an institution and there were lots of committees. We had an opportunity to get to know one another even though we were in different disciplines. Mine was economics. I hope that you take Jarol and I into consideration when you are setting the date for the memorial. Jarol is my daughter who took the study of Anthropology. My phone number is 306-586-9438. My address is 6 Langley Street Regina SK S4S 3V6

Grace and I were in the swing generation of women, between women not being taken seriously in archaeology, and today's acceptance. Grace was an avocational archaeologist who had a salon, as it were, in her home, avocational and professional archaeologists always welcome for good talk. We urged her to take degrees to become professional, which she did when the kids were grown enough. Her exemplary, valuable dissertation excited interest among First Nations, especially Blackfoot, but she entered the job market at an unauspicious time and as a middle-aged woman competing against ambitious young men. We professional archaeologists always respected her, cite her work, and regret she couldn't win positions where she could share her knowledge and mentor younger scientists more fully. I sign in sisterhood with the unforgetable scientist and warm friend, R. Grace Morgan.

What does one say?... Especially when it has been a long time since seeing the deceased,,, I knew Grace through Don and Donna so it is to them and the rest of the family that my thoughts go to. Never easy. Never understandable but...
Best wishes
Elmer Brenner
