Obituary of Jeffrey Norman Coutts

JEFFREY NORMAN COUTTS February 26, 1944 – March 7, 2016 Jeffrey died in his sleep at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Monday March 7, 2016. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba February 26, 1944. Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, Norman Ewart Coutts; his mother Lucille Marie Ann Sutherland (Coutts, Gardiner) and his infant brother Roger James Coutts. Jeff had a difficult life but he never became angry or bitter. After kicking a drug habit that dogged him through his twenties, thirties and forties, Jeff went back to school and became a psychiatric nurse, knowing his experiences would make him a better nurse. Jeff was the guy who was always broke because he gave money, clothing, a bed for the night or many nights, to people in need, people suffering, people who had been where he had been. In the last few years Jeff had health problems and was less mobile but he was always up for a good meal at his brother Ron’s and a discussion of the events of the day. He is survived by his son, Wilson; twin daughters Shauna and Shannon; close friends Laura Gyles and Tim Euinton; his brothers and sisters who are sad to lose him, Thelma Coutts (Antonio Larcher), Sandra Bartlett, Dave Coutts, Ron Coutts (Sheila); his former in-laws, Tom Bartlett and Diane Coutts; nieces and nephews, Renée Bartlett (Stewart Davila), Bryan and Erica Coutts, Petra Coutts Scheibel (Greg Scheibel) and Ryan Coutts (Shauna Perfect) and his nine month old grand- niece Maisie Perfect. At Jeff’s wishes there will be no funeral, but a Come-and-Go Celebration of His Life will take place at the home of Ron and Sheila Coutts, 7 Burton Place, Regina, SK, on Saturday March 12, 2016 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
