I just wanted to send my deepest sympathy to Greg's wonderful family. I was lucky enough to get to work with Greg for a number of years. I still catch myself looking down the hall expecting to see Greg and his smiley face. I sure hope that in Heaven they have a fully stocked showcase of watches just for you Greg. I will always remember all the good times I had with Greg. God bless you Gregory, I will never forget you, or your amazing slap shot when we played floor hockey. Till we meet again

Greg taught all the Engel boys many things through our childhood years that we carry to this day in our adult lives. We all haves stories that we will remember and cherish. We were blessed to have him and your family as neighbors on Lakeview Avenue!

Dearest "mom" Pat, Shelley, Cathy, Dawn and Gerry and families. I was so sorry to hear about Greg's passing, and I am truly sorry that I was not around in this difficult time for support. What a character Greg was, he could be funny one minute and serious the next, but still loved, even with his quirks! Who could resist that smile...nobody.....his laughter at our silly dances and him getting us in the gut with all his might, the strength of TWO..(two kittens that is ;) His innocence everlasting. He was placed on earth with the right family, the right second family, the right workplace and with the right dear friend Boyd. I feel blessed to have been part of his life while at Extendicare and also to have known you all. Your love for him was evident in every visit,as well as all over his walls and even crept out into the halls around the doorway and to the entire shared room. Your generosity to us staff, outstanding. Your understanding to us staff, amazing. You are truly all wonderful. I will miss Greg, and I will miss seeing all of you as well.
God Bless
with heartfelt sympathy,
Marianne

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Greg is one of the people I worked with for many years and enjoyed all the great times we had. He was always a great socializer with his peers and the staff. Conversations with him always seemed to end with his head tilting sideways and a big smile. He had the last word, which was usually lines like, "I like you Dianne" or "That's okay Dianne". The last time I saw Greg was a visit last summer at Extendicare and he knew my name, remembered my husband's name, my birthday and even my two daughter's names.
One time I vividly remember was when a social work student who was spending some time at Diversified Services and I took Greg to a bingo game. Greg idolized a guy from some soap opera and that guy was at the bingo hall that night for some special reason. Greg was not aware the guy was going to be there and when they announced his name and he appeared on the bingo caller's stand, you should have seen Greg light up with excitement. Somewhere amongst my photos I do have a picture of Greg with the man.
Yes, Greg will now be able to join his Dad and his long time friend Boyd. Rest in piece Greg ...and as you always said, "That's okay".
