Obituary of James Stewart Sinclair

Jim died peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016. He is survived by his wife Darlene, son Terrence (Heather, granddaughters Jessica and Kathryn), daughter Judith Morton (Arthur, granddaughter Kristianna, great grandson Jeffrey, grandson James), step-grandchildren Dustin Duckett, Dalton Duckett and Marley Duckett, step-daughter Phoebe Deck (Gordon and step-granddaughters Dayna Anderson and Dayle Deck), step-daughter Myrna Pollon (Bill and step-grandchildren Kimberly Weisbrod and Jonathan Ball), brother Bruce, sister Joan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Ellen Sinclair, June (his wife of 43 years), sisters Alison and Dorothy, brothers Fred and Bill and step-son James Duckett. Born in St. Rose Manitoba in 1921, Jim started school in Wicklow, a rural school near Grandview. He completed high school in Bowsman, Manitoba and soon after graduation, joined the army and served proudly throughout WWII in Canada, Italy and Holland, mainly with the 17th Field Regiment, Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. After the war he served for 16 years in the reserve forces, retiring as L. Col., CO of 10th Field Regiment RCA in Regina. In civilian life, Jim was employed for 33 years in the Public Service of Saskatchewan. He served in a number of positions in several departments including appointment as Deputy Minister. Jim was active in community organizations including as director of the Alzheimers Association of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Lung Association and the Royal United Services Institute. At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Jim’s ashes will be interred at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
