To the Yee fanily Doug Vince Chris Morris Henry T am so shocked and very sad to hear of Dans very sudden passing.I know how hard this will be for all of you,as I know how much you all loved Dan.Dan and I were close childhood friends from grade 2 on to graduation. He was great at sports, very competitive ,we all pushed each other-Bob-Todd-Mike-Scott-Kim-Dean and even Chris, but we coud'nt keep up to Vince . Dan always looked out for us and kept us on the right track, which bettered us all later in life. My family and I always loved to eat at the great WK . He was always cool calm and collected in all situations ,,something I learned from him. One day I was over at bobs house and we needed dan for something(I can't remember what?)so I went over to his place to get him. For sum reason he was very upset and he didn't won't to come out,but I convinced him we needed him,so ove to Bobs we go.I'm trying to find out whats got him so going, finally at Bobs he tells us-he just finished having dinner with his family and nis granma who just got in from China. They had soup and other fixing-so after supper dans in the livingroom and he notices he can't find his pet Turtle ,it's then he realized he had just ate him at supper(soup)granma thought it was their to eat.We never laughed so hard! he even felt better. He was a great friend so smart I will always remember him fondly he's someone you can't forget ever.He is in heaven now on the right side with God where he belongs. Much love Danny Your friend Bill

I am so sorry that Dan is no longer among us. From the time we worked together over 20 years ago in the Multiculturalism Directorate, I well remember how modest Dan was about his quick and agile mind and how his friendly, sociable nature made every exchange a pleasant and positive experience. It is much too soon to lose someone as kind and generous-hearted as Dan,and I send my deepest condolences to his family.

I was saddened to read of Dan's sudden passing. To Dan's family, relatives and friends, my deepest sympathy during this time of your loss. I had the privilege of working with Dan while at the Public Service Commission of Canada in Ottawa. He was a personable and caring individual who was well liked by his colleagues. Dear Mrs. Yee, Doug, Vincent, Chris, Morris and Henry,
It was with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of Dan. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
I had the great pleasure and honour of working with Dan since 2011 in Employment and Social Development Canada's Corporate Secretariat. In 2013, Dan joined the Privacy Management Division's management team, where he was a key contributor to the division's operations and strategy.
Since 2013, many, if not most of my work days started and ended in the presence of Dan. It was typically at the end of the day that I would sit with Dan, attend to business, and discuss matters of life, public policy, current events, and past experience. Dan was an excellent public servant. He was extremely bright, well-informed, courteous and respectful, thoughtful, and virtuous. He cared for his colleagues, and was a trusted source of advice and guidance to others.
Dan will be missed and remembered fondly.

I worked with Dan at Employment and Social Development Canada for five years. My first impressions were of a man who was professional, discreet and very, very smart. While most of our conversations were about work, one day we began talking about our families, travel... Life in general. We had a good laugh that day. And although we never went back to being that personal, that day is what sticks in my mind about Dan. He was very reserved but had such depth of soul and spirit. Rest well, my friend.

I was very saddened to learn of Dan's passing. We were colleagues many years ago and enjoyed working together on equity matters. Dan's smile and cheery nature were always at the forefront. He had a keen mind and a wonderful spirit. I am pleased learn he went on to more senior levels in the government while remaining a key figure in his family. RIP

I am unbelievably saddened to learn of the passing of Dan. We’ve known each other for more than a decade; first working together at TBS, and, then again at ESDC. As bright as they come, Dan was one of the people I had come to rely upon when I needed wise counsel. He was always generous with his time and thoughts. Seeing Dan at ESDC was almost a daily occurrence. I am really going to miss him.

I didn't work closely with Dan at the Public Service Commission, but did have many occasions to chat with him. Running into him in the lobby and gabbing for 15 minutes about work and related matters was always one of the more pleasant pick-me-ups of the day.
A sweet guy with a pleasant and always friendly outlook, and a tireless public servant. We'll miss him.

I hired Dan in the late 80s or early 90s in Multiculturalism, encouraging and coaching him later to get onto the management trainee program. He was so bright, with such great potential. I remained friends with him over the years, socializing, hiking in the Adirondacks, and meeting for occasional coffees. I am so terribly sorry to learn of his passing and your family loss. The last time I saw him, he was in top form from working out and he was talking of buying a condominium. He told me he would be sure to have extra room so that he could always look after elder family needing care, which I greatly admired.
