Obituary of Daniel Soo-Yang Yee

DANIEL SOO-YANG YEE January 5, 1965 – August 18, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dan Yee, much loved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Dan was born in Regina, SK. He received his Honors Degree in History from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and later moved to Ottawa to work for the federal government while also completing a Masters Degree from Carleton University. He attained senior roles within the federal government, most recently as Manager within the Privacy Management Division of Employee and Social Development Canada in Gatineau, PQ. Dan is predeceased by his father Jim A. He is survived by his mother Susan; his brothers, Douglas, Ottawa, Vincent (Cally), Toronto, Christopher (Anna), Regina, Morris, Regina, and Henry (Rubina), Toronto; nieces and nephews, Shea, Sara, Amanda, Tariq, Caden, Alexander, Zafran, and Malik. Known for his big heart and keen intellect, Dan was well-respected and liked by friends and colleagues. For family, he was dutiful, respectful and kind. Dan gave generously of himself for family, friends, or colleagues. We are at a loss without you. However, Dan, you are now home. Visitation will be at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service in Ottawa, ON is planned at a later date.
