It was a privilege and a pleasure to get to know Marlene when she was a volunteer at the Alzheimer Society. As a staff member, I had many opportunities to chat with her about Society business and her life outside her volunteer role. Her family, including her husband Red, her children and grandchildren were obviously the most important thing to her. I loved hearing about the pups, curling and her experiences as a nurse and business woman. Overall, her sense of humour and her wisdom always shone through in all of our conversations. She was an indispensable volunteer to the Alzheimer Society for many years. After I stopped working there, it was always a treat to run into her at Chapters to catch up. I am saddened that that will no longer happen. I know she was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

I played basketball at Sheldon Williams Collegiate with Marlene [1956-1958] She was a star! I have kept in touch
with a couple of Regina friends who reported her struggles.
Life is eternal and love is immortal
Death is only a horizon
And what is a horizon?
The limit of our sight.
With sincere sympathy
