Obituary of Marvin Aloysius Gelowitz

Our loving and dedicated husband and father Marvin passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the age of 58 years, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his in-laws Ed and Joyce Oyka. Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; children, Nicole, Angela, Timothy and Michael; grandchildren, Jesse, Crissy-Anne, Lexi, Ty and Hudson; parents Al and Helen; four brothers, Dale, Rod (Denise), Terry (Cindy), Steve (Mel) and four sisters, Denise (Bill), Rhonda (Doug), Veronica (Dale), Allison as well as a large group of nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. Marvin was born in Regina, SK on August 8, 1958. He attended St. Pius and St. Peter Elementary schools and M.C. O’ Neill High school. Throughout his life, Marvin dedicated his time not only to his family but also to those in the community. He was a volunteer for various organizations. As an athlete, coach and mentor, Marv was very influential to the sports community which led him to the Sask. Baseball Hall of Fame. Marv loved to golf, fish, play ball, but most of all loved being on the deck at a barbeque with the people he loved. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. A special thanks to the nurses and staff of 3B at the Pasqua Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Parish, 100 Argyle Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pasqua Hospital, Unit 3B, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.
