Obituary of Peter John Klaptchuk

PETER JOHN KLAPTCHUK August 17, 1957 – March 17, 2017 With profound sadness, we announce that Peter John Klaptchuk passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the age of 59 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Klaptchuk; son David Taylor; sister-in-law Corrie Klaptchuk; and brother-in-law Jim Slaney. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sylvia; his children, Andrew (Marilyn), Bill (Nicole), and Brenda; his grandchildren, Nathan, Chelsey (John), and Tanna (Justin); and great-grandchildren, Miya, Connor, and Alexander. He is also survived by his brother Frank Klaptchuk; nephews, Justin (Melissa and baby Madalyn) and Zachery; and nieces Victoria, April (Steve) Lawrence, and Chris Kergen; as well as numerous cousins. Peter was a well known and highly respected businessman within Regina and surrounding area. He was a brilliant entrepreneur and inventor, whose accomplishments include the development of the HydroVac, the Ozonator Biomedical Waste Unit, and Peter’s Sewer Service. The Klaptchuk family would like to say a special thank you to the Regina Beach First Responders and the MICU team at the Regina General Hospital, for showing the utmost care and compassion in the final days of Peter’s life. A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held at Holy Child R.C. Church, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In keeping with Peter’s style, we welcome casual attire: golf shirts, sports jerseys etc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MICU at the Regina General Hospital, 1440 14th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0W5. “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
