Stanley Murkett

Obituary of Stanley Murkett

JUNE 5, 1929 – MARCH 29, 2017 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved uncle Stan. He was predeceased by his brothers and mom and dad. He is survived by his wife June (Clark) of 65 years; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and sisters-in-law Marian and Francis. Uncle and Auntie lived all their married life in Regina. Their first house was on Coronation Street until moving to south east Regina. Stan had various jobs until he found himself at Sun Electric where he was to remain. He eventually became a partner as well as the office controller. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Retirement years saw him busy with golf, his home, and the coffee meeting with "the guys" a couple times a week. He was a great keeper of their Condo Complex and always seemed to be looking after someone's place while they were away. A private family interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Stan’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1-2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 9Z9. “There is a big hole in our hearts, Uncle. Here's a Black Russian to you, or a wee dram!”
