Nikki and I spent grade one to twelve in Regina. She was smart, and beautiful and kind. When we graduated I left to go to nursing school in Calgary. Nikki asked me to be her bridesmaid, maid of honour at her wedding to Gerald. Twenty-five years ago I went back to a school reunion and connected with Nikki again. Recently friends and I were discussing our favourite birthday present ever. Mine was a short-sleeved pullover. It was the most beautiful aqua colour and I wore that sweater until there wasn't any sweater to wear. I did think of her often and planned on writing her a letter telling her how much that present meant to me but I didn't do it.
To the family and friends of Nikki please accept my condolences. I will miss thinking of her working tirelessly for and with the Catholic Community. My life was the richer for having her in it.

Nikki and I met when we were grade school kids at Sacred Heart School over 60 years ago. Though I eventually moved away from Regina, our friendship remained strong across the miles that separated us. Nikki was a vibrant, independent woman and a model of deep faith and determination. She was a loving presence in my life and I already miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her closest family at this sad time.

My sincere condolences to your family. I visited with Nikki a few times after her retirement and I was just about to call her for another visit when I received this distressing news. The last time I saw her was as she was leaving the Blair Clinic in July after a check up. I was taking my cousin in for a radiation treatment and didn't have much time to talk. My cousin passed away shortly after that and things have been a bit crazy since but I would have liked to visit with Nikki again. She was such a courageous and hard-working lady. Never complained even with all the meds she was on. The world was a better place with her in it. She'll be missed...... Janis Walker (retired from Harvard PMI)

My deepest condolences to Nikki's family. I worked with Nikki at Harvard Developments where she was the perfect example of a devoted and loyal employee. I remember her stories about "the bird" and we often had a good laugh over them. Nikki's family meant the world to her, as did her faith and her church. May the memories you have sustain you through this difficult time. Sincerely, Cheryl Sweet.

Taken at Easter, 2014. Nikki was my partner in preparing the church environment for celebrations. She did so much for her parish.
