Obituary of Eileen Tumack
EILEEN TUMACK
1936 – 2017
Eileen of Regina passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the age of 81 years. She will be dearly missed by all of her loved ones. Mom/Eileen was born and raised on a traditional Ukrainian family farm in the RM of Fisher Branch, Manitoba during the great depression years of the 1930's. Mom attended the North Meridian School where she completed Grade 9. In 1957, Mom moved from the farm to Winnipeg and got a job as a housekeeper/nanny. In 1959, she moved to Regina and resided with her brother Mike and his family while working at Dominion Grocery Store in the Butcher Shop. Shortly after, Mom met our father, Anthony Tumack. On June 3, 1961, Mom and Dad got married, and settled in Regina. Mom had four children: Rod (1963), Darryl (1965), Ken (1967), and Lori (1977). For the next 15 years, Mom was mostly a Domestic Engineer, and for a short time, she worked on the cookie packaging line at Dad’s Cookies in White City. While Lori was in elementary school, Mom returned to the work force and was able to get a job at Luther College High School, working in the food services, in charge of the cash register and salad bar. Mom loved working there, and retired after approximately 17 years of service. Mom loved spending time gardening/canning, listening/singing along to Hank Williams Sr., reading, crocheting, sewing quilts and costumes for Buffalo Days and Ukrainian dancing. After 43 years of marriage, Dad passed away on October 2, 2004. In 2008, Mom's Parkinsons was becoming a problem, and she required special care. After a lot of convincing, Mom finally agreed to sell the house and move into a care home in the city called Wild Rose Care Home where she resided for a year and a half. Later, she was admitted to Wascana Rehab Facility for long term care, where she resided until she answered God's call to Heaven. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. followed by refreshments and concluding with the interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eileen may be made to Parkinson Canada, 316 - 4211 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2P 2A9.
You will be Forever Loved, and Cherished in our Hearts -
