I have so many fond memories of Jim from late 70’s and early 80’s when he was running the cafeteria at Social Services on 1308 Winnipeg St.
With vibrant energy and cheerful greetings he made everyone feel welcome.
He introduced many of us to half a cantaloupe for breakfast and we really looked forward to his Christmas dinners.
We especially loved St. Patrick’s Day when Jim would put on music and dance a jig while serving up coffee with Irish Cream for our morning break and of course his famous Irish (whiskey)Trifle for our afternoon break!
Jim was often the bright spot in our otherwise dreary workday and I feel lucky to have known him.
