Obituary of Kevin Bradley Fox
KEVIN BRADLEY FOX
Kevin, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, following a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the age of 58 years. He was predeceased by his father George Fox; and special Aunt Josephine Hague. Kevin is survived by his daughter Kayla (Andrew); son Jeremy (Tina); three grandchildren, Nolan, Brennen, and Gemma; mother Margaret Fox; sister Nancy (Dean); brother Regan; niece Nicole; nephews, Derek and Brett (Calli); great niece Novena; Uncle Dennis (Bonnie); as well as numerous cousins.
Kevin grew up playing baseball and golfing in the summer and hockey in the winter. He loved to draw and paint, and excelled at this during his high school years.
Needless to say, his favourite class was art with Mr. Wilf Perreault as his teacher. Kevin kept in touch with Mr. Perreault every now and then and he was pleased to receive an original painting from him just last week.
Kevin's first car in high school was a bright yellow Javelin! Back in the day, it was common to put a name or saying on your vehicle and Kevin thought it fitting to call his "Fox on the Run" like the song!
Kevin married Shelley Coubrough and together they had Jeremy and Kayla. They later divorced, but have two great kids from the union. Kevin was so proud of both of them. Jeremy excelled in sports, playing both baseball and hockey. Kayla, also known as Kayla Girl, played community baseball when they lived in East View. Jeremy is engaged to Tina Koch and Kayla and Andrew have three beautiful children together, Nolan, Brennen, and Gemma, all apples in Grandpa's eyes!
Over the years, Kevin worked at Sears and also with our Dad, George, at Dominion Bridge. He then became a painter and worked on both commercial buildings and residential homes. In 2013, he suffered a heart attack and had to take six months off work to recover. Kevin went back to work and shortly after he injured his back, which forced him to no longer be able to work. He always said he wanted to get back at it, and even held onto his old truck that he used to haul his ladders and supplies in, just in case, but that never happened.
On Christmas Day, 2017 Kevin went into the hospital and was found to have a brain tumor. It turned out to be a very aggressive cancer, one that they haven't seen before. Two surgeries followed, but it was just too much and he passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 with Kayla holding his hand, his Mother, Margaret, and sister Nancy by his side. He is no longer in pain and is with his Dad and family members in heaven.
The Family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time and appreciate all the calls, text messages, and cards received.
Memorial Service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Cliff Geiger officiating. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to KidSport Regina, 1870 Lorne Street, Regina, SK S4P 2L7.
