So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I played in a band with him called the JAYCEES back in the early 70's. What a great bunch.
The Schulhausers( Clayton and Wilfred, Ted Fiordon, Ed Christafeld,me, and Fred. Sorry for the name spellings. What a wonderful bunch of guys and families.
We moved back to Winnipeg in 1977 and I missed them ever since. A couple of years ago I phoned Fred and we had a great talk.
Fred was still telling jokes and I loved everyone of them. He told me he was still playing drums in a band.
We played many small town halls for weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties and October Fests. Occasionally we had picnics for the families of the band members.. Each gig we did we put away money to hold these gatherings so our families would get to know each other. I'm unsure if some of the members or all of them have passed away but their memories live on in my heart and I'm sure in the hearts of all who knew them. I was in my 20's then and the youngster in the band. I taught them the new songs and they taught me the old songs which I fell in love with. They were the best band with which I ever played and believe me I played with at least 20 to 30. My condolences go out to Fred's family and many friends left behind and are filled with my tears, but no regrets for knowing such a wonderful friend.

Arlene and family. I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. I will always remember the laughs and good times we had at Jean Vanier school. Suppers, family dances and Octoberfest celebrations. Good jokes too! He was one of a kind!
Sincerely
Bernie

Our deep sympathies to the family of Fred Richter.
It was our pleasure to have known this gentle man, gifted musician and entertainer. On many occasions, we were privileged to be entertained by
him and his fellow musicians as they played for the residents at senior homes
where our mother resided. He always had a smile and enjoyed what he did.
We haven't had the pleasure of knowing his whole family, but Todd, as we know
him, seems to be following his father's footsteps. You can be very proud of
your dad. May he rest in peace.
