RICHTER, Frederick “Fred” Otto

It is with great sadness that the family announces Fred’s passing on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital, at the age of 89 years. Fred was born on a farm near Disley, SK on January 4, 1929. He was predeceased by parents, Otto and Freida Richter; and brothers Frank, Charlie, George, Ben, and George (2^nd). Fred is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arlene; daughter Cheryl (Dennis), grandson Shawn (Rhonda), great-granddaughters, Mya and Alexa, granddaughter Celeste (Marc), great-grandchildren, Isabella and Ethan; daughter Charlene (Bryan), grandson Christian (Kim), great-granddaughters, Jackie and Natalie, granddaughter Erin (Will), great-granddaughter Charlotte and great-grandson Hudson, granddaughter Danielle(Steve), great-grandson Grayson, and granddaughter Whitney (Brett); and son Todd (Kathy), granddaughter Ashley, and grandson Jordy. He is also survived by his brother Carl Richter and numerus nieces and nephews. While Fred will forever be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, who never failed to help anyone in need, it is his love of music and laughter that defines who he was at heart. Thank you to the caring staff at the Regina General Hospital and to the amazing staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital Ward 5D for showing such tremendous compassion to Fred in his final days. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace, 425 Broad Street North, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with lunch to follow. Interment will be held in Disley Cemetery around 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to share in a celebration of Fred’s life are welcome to join the family for supper at the Disley Community Hall following the interment. Flowers are respectfully declined. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to a charity of your choice.
