Obituary of Douglas Wesley Clarke

Douglas passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret; sons Barry (Ramona) of Regina and Brian (Cathy) of Calgary; grandchildren, Jared (Kristen), Kirsten (MacKenzie), Jessica (Joel), Benjamin, Leandra and Alex; great grandchildren, Rowan, Teal and Maverick; sister Shirley Moore of Kamsack; brother Bob of Winnipeg; cousins Marlene Herbert and Carolee Taylor; sister-in-law Jean MacDonald of Calgary; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as relatives and friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents Fred and Lena Clarke (Walters); brother-in-law Tom Moore; sister-in-law Ruth Hillis; and niece Donna Moore. Doug received his elementary and secondary education in Kamsack, SK. Following high school he worked for the Canadian National Railway at various locations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba from 1948 – 1961. He then attended the U of S and received his Bachelor of Commerce as a mature student. Doug was employed by the Government of Saskatchewan, Department of Finance from 1965 -1985 at which time he retired.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Regina, SK since 1965, a life member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Callie Senior Men’s Curling Club. Doug was a true gentleman with never  a bad or unkind word for anyone. He loved attending all his grandchildren’s activities, and he was a dedicated Rider’s fan as a season ticket holder in excess of 50 years! He was a wonderful father and husband, a true role model to his sons.  Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Road, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Doug’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, 1845 Osler Street, Regina, SK, S4P 1W1, or St. Luke’s Anglican Church.
