George Delgaty posted a condolence

My condolences to Lois and the rest of the family. I met Doug when I was a member of the Scots Curling Team (West) in 2013.
He came seeking me as soon as we arrived at the Regina Highland Curling Club as he wanted me to meet Lois who is a (Delgatty).
We had a lovely chat over Coffee at their home and Doug got me back in time for the evening Banquet
I could not let the opportunity pass to sing the "Barnyards of Delgaty" a well known Scots Bothy Ballad and Doug and I were slightly emotional once I had finished.
When would go thousands of miles to meet such a nice man who ensured that Lois met a Delgaty from Scotland.
George Delgaty. Perth. Scotland.

To Lois and all the family,
My sympathy and condolences. Doug and I started school together, and a highlight of reunions was seeing him and having time to talk and remember. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My wife Velma and I wish to express our sympathy to Lois Kirk and family on the passing of Doug. He lived a long and active life and was particularly loyal to his wife and family, the province of Saskatchewan and particularly to Saskatchewan Wheat Pool where I knew him. You could also say that he was loyal to the game of Curling which is our province's official game. May he rest in peace and be a pleasant and loving memory to those closest to him.
