He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years Claire (Van Allen); daughters, Mary Alice and Roberta; sons, Donald, Allen and Timothy; daughters-in-law, Patti and Lorna; sons-in-law, Colin Barnes and Robert Bell; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister Jane Frazer; brother Robert Kramer; sisters-inlaw, Mary St. Pierre, Garda Van Allen, Ann Kramer; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Don was born in 1926 in Winnipeg Manitoba, eldest child of Robert and Alice Kramer. Dons’ formative years were spent in Calgary, going on to obtain a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. Following graduation he joined Kramer Tractor Company Ltd. in sales, and in 1952 opened the branch office in Tisdale. He returned to Regina in 1957 and in 1978 became president and remained CEO until his death.

Don maintained an interest in many organizations including CAED, Junior Achievement, United Way, South Saskatchewan Community Foundation, Saskatchewan Roughriders, the YMCA, the Saskatchewan Science Centre, IMAX Theatre, Marion Centre, Santa Maria, Regina Symphony, Mackenzie Art Gallery, Kramer home and many, many others. Don was generous to his family, his friends, his church and was an energetic principled man of integrity.

In 2010 he received the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in recognition of his contribution to the Province of Saskatchewan evidenced in his unfailing generosity, benevolence and commitment to his community. Don was also recognized in receiving the Red Cross Humanitarian Award, The St. Edmund Campion Medal and a Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Regina.

To fully appreciate all that Donald E. Kramer was, is to look at his generosity of heart and the impact he had on the lives he touched while he was here.

Don found great pleasure at the family cottage where he golfed and sailed and his special joy was the occasion of his birthday when children, grandchildren and great grandchildren came together in celebration.

A heartfelt thank you for the medical care Dr. Stewart McMillan and his staff provided through these last years. We also want to thank the Palliative staff at All Nations’ Healing Hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle whose compassion, respect and care was exemplary.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Cathedral and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.

Floral tributes gratefully declined, if desired a remembrance may be made to a charity of your choice. To leave on online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
