My brother Brad passed this along to me this morning. I was so sorry to read of Trav’s passing and send thoughts to the entire Gibson family. Trav was my first boyhood hero. The Gibsons had a house at the top of Forestview Bay. My sister Randa was friends with Vanessa. I was friends with Romy. Trav was always so kind and patient with my hero worship. I recall him spending hours helping me to put together my book of Esso hockey stickers, which I still pull out periodically to show my own kids. Trav served as an inspiration for my own hockey career. My Dad and I followed him through the Silver Foxes, Pat Blues and then WHL - always commenting on his grit and determination. The most vivid recollection of Trav I have is playing shinny at MJ Coldwell on a frigid Saturaday afternoon with him and a couple of kids from New Brunswick who came to Regina to play on the Pat Blues. One of those kids was Al MacInnis. Trav left a strong impression on me. Not surprisingly, it sounds like he left a similar imprint on many other lives. I think of Forestview Bay and the Gibson family often. I hope you find some comfort in the memories and stories of Trav in this difficult time.

I'm sorry to hear of Gibby's passing. I had the pleasure to play hockey on the Cougars with Trav. He was a great athlete and had a great sense of humor.
My condolences to his family.

We both grew up in Uplands and our families always had a great connection. Although we went to separate high schools whenever we ran into each other we would stop to talk. In our adult years I worked for the City of Regina while Trav was a firefighter. My son Mason Stack and Haley graduated together and as I'm writing this I can't help thinking that Trav and the whole Gibson family have been in my life for as long as I can remember. Trav was a great guy a tremendous athlete and by looking at his wife Connie and his two wonderful children you can see he was a great husband and father. Although I now live in Northern Manitoba my heart is in Regina today with all of Trav's family and friends. You will be missed.

I am in New York so I couldn’t say goodbye to Travis at his service today. I met him playing hockey when we were 9 or 10 years old and we became friends. His parents took me in like I was one of their own. Trav was always improving his skills whether it was hockey, fastball or anything he set his mind to. Trav was as tough as nails. His work ethic was unreal and his love of sports was only second to his love of family. As most childhood friends do, we took separate paths through life, we never saw each other for years. I remember when he joined the RFD, I thought yep fits him good. When ever we did bump into each other it was just as it had been when we chummed around. He always had a smile and a handshake for me. Rest In Peace Trav.

I extend deepest sympathies to the Gibson family. Gibby was a team mate of mine with the UofR back in the early 80s. We had a lot of fun in those years. RIP Gibby, you will be missed.

My sincere condolences on Trav's passing. "Gibby" was a great friend and teammate with the U of R Cougars. Fast and fearless on the ice. Always laughing and smiling off the ice. May he rest in peace.
