I first met Marilyn at line dancing. I always admired her for her knowledge and advice she was able to give on medical problems that her friends would ask her advice on. We became good friends and met a few times a week for coffee, lunch, walks, and dance at the seniors centre. We also went on two trips together and with others. She loved her family and talked of her trips to see her sons as well as her Sunday dinners at her daughters with her grandchildren. The sleepovers with her grandchildren were very special and was one of the reasons why I moved to Parksville to be close to my grandchildren and son and family. She was a good friend and I will miss her but feel privileged to have known her.
