Obituary of Marilyn Joyce Kearns

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Joyce Kearns at the age of 78 years.  After a lengthy battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.  Marilyn was born in Central Butte on September 29, 1940.  Proving that you are never too old to make a change, Marilyn went back to school in her late 40’s and graduated from Nursing in 1989.  Her nursing career took her from the Plains Hospital (General Surgery Unit) to the General Hospital (General Surgery Unit) and finally to the Pasqua Hospital (CCU/CSU).  She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mildred Colwell.  Marilyn is survived by her daughter Terri (Jordan) Arendt and granddaughters Ainsley and Addison; son Kelly (Tracy) Kearns and granddaughters Devon and Autumn; and son Troy (Lisa) Kearns and granddaughters Ashley and Keri.  She is also survived by her brother Joe (Liz) Colwell; sister Carol (Jim) Isakson and sister Shirley (Fred) Player; as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held at Tugaske Cemetery on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Come and Go Tea will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.Special thanks to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Those so wishing may make a donation in memory of Marilyn to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK, S4P 2R3, for cancer research.
