Obituary of Edwin Isidore Schulhauser
Our forever smiling husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Edwin Schulhauser passed away peacefully at the age of 92, while watching the World Junior game with family by his side on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Dad was never one to miss a gathering and rushed up to heaven to celebrate the annual family New Years party with his late mother Theresa, father Isidore, brothers Albert (Edna), Wilfred (Betty), Roy (Georgina) sisters Helen, Alma (Albert), Marian and sister-in-law Angie.
He will be deeply missed by his family and loving wife Jean of 70 years, who he adored and loved so much.
Edwin’s love for people and contagious smile will continue through his sons Neil (Shawn) and Ken Schulhauser. His kind heart and easy-going personality will remain through his grandchildren, Lindsay (Tina) Schulhauser, Amanda (Tyler) Krenbrink, Justin (Sara) Schulhauser, Aimee (Dean) Schulhauser, Michelle (Kevin) Schulhauser, and Scott (Jennifer) Schulhauser. His love of Hockey, Orange Crush Floats and good looks will be carried on by his great-grandchildren Aiden, Kaydence, Halle, Mila, Willa, Hanna, and Heidi. His love for music will continue to be played by his brother John (Phyillis) Schulhauser.
Dad was born on January 10, 1926 on a farm South of Cupar, Saskatchewan. He attended the Kilshannig School where he went undefeated back-catching for the baseball team. Grandpa and Grandma married on July 28, 1948 and began their family farm South of Cupar. He grew up farming, driving International and Fords, playing drums in the Schulhauser band, and coaching hockey. Grandpa was a community man and loved to be around people. He enjoyed ushering at the church, stealing grandmas’ chocolates, the Montreal Canadians, being at the rink and heading downtown for coffee. Dad was a councillor for the RM of Cupar, volunteer Ambulance attendant, and the Director of the Cupar Lee’s Funeral Home for many, many years. Grandpa offered his loving heart and big hugs to many people through difficult times like these.
Our family would like to thank Unit 5E at the Regina General Hospital and the Cupar and District Nursing Home for all the love and care he received in his final days. Donations may be made to the Cupar and District Nursing home in his name.
Memorial Service to honor Edwin will be held at the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Cupar, SK on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A lunch will follow at the Cupar Town Hall.
