Dear Matilda, Jill, Glen & family,
I was so sorry to hear of Lionel's passing. We didn't have many relatives in Regina, but we had our Forrester family. Christmases, Thanksgivings and birthdays and everything in between. Lionel introduced me to jazz and blues, and was the first to explain 'call and response' to me. I still have Dave Brubeck CDs and countless other jazz & blues music that I listen to all the time because of Lionel. And all the projects we tackled with Lionel! Fixing up many old cars and finishing basements springs to mind. He had a very curious mind and I was always impressed with the breadth of his knowledge, and we are lucky that he was so willing to share it with us. I will miss him.

Our deepest condolences. Lionel was always at the center of great conversations at Reagan and Glen's bar-b-ques and get togethers. He will be missed.

It is with great sorrow that I hear of Lionel's passing.
We were colleagues in the early days of computing at SaskPower where I learned to know Lionel. Our careers extended for some 30-odd years to our retirements and beyond. We shared an interest in digging deep into the understanding of what was going on behind the scenes in the languages and computers we were using. When a deep understanding was beneficial, Lionel was the best resource to have a discussion with because he always had time to "dig into it".
Lionel was also always gracious to everyone around. At one of our last coffee times he recalled and commended me for helping him with a problem he had had with a Dodge van in the 1980's. After hours of discussion and looking at wiring diagrams, we had managed to determine that there had been an assembly error at the factory and a wire was in an incorrect position on a terminal block. Thirty years later he took the time and effort to express his appreciation for my help!!
To Lionel's family, be assured that his passing leaves a hole in life of everyone who knew him.
