Peter was a wonderful man and a good friend. We had so many laughs together when my children were students at Campbell and when I would visit him in his stores. I miss him very much.

Our sympathy and peace to all of you. This final separation is so difficult.
It’s Peter’s energy and love of life that we will miss the most. Wherever Peter was, you knew the conversation would be animated and there would be laughter. Inevitably his pride and joy in you, his family, would emerge. He treasured your endeavours and visits. He also valued his roots and enjoyed telling some of his childhood stories.
Now who makes those delicious cinnamon buns?
Nos sinceres sympathies! Jean et Leona

I remember Peter as a caring, humorous man who loved to teach and have fun while ERn63doing it. I had the pleasure of teaching with Peter and we shared many laughs. He was also a generous man. He offered us his Kenosee cabin one winter when we went cross country skiing. He enriched many lives during his life time. I am glad to have known Peter!

I am saddened for you in the loss of Peter. He was one of my teachers in Carlyle in the late '60's, as was your Mom, and I have such fond memories of his enthusiasm and encouragement. He also taught my two brothers, Ron and Ken, and my late sister, Dorothy. One of Dorothy's favourite places to go was WP, and she always enjoyed her encounters with Peter there.
On behalf of myself and my brothers, please accept my sympathy in your great loss.
Sincerely, Kathy

I had the pleasure of working for and along side Peter at WP for 5 years both in the greenhouse and inside the store. As a retired teacher myself, we would share many teaching stories. Peter’s love for teaching was truly evident in every story he told. His eyes shone with love and joy when he talked about his children and grandchildren. Peter’s love for the flowers in the greenhouse prompted many enjoyable discussions about designing beautiful potted flowers. Thank you Peter for all the special times we shared at WP.
Sending my condolences to the Charles family during this difficult time.

My condolences. Mr. Charles was at Campbell when I was a student and then as a pre-intern. He happened to be retiring that year and passed on lots of resources to me which I was very thankful for as a beginning French Immersion teacher.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Charles. Mr. Charles was my French teacher at Greenall. He also was the man who encouraged me to become involved with the Drama club and we had a fun couple of years with drama competitions. I so enjoyed seeing him later at WP. We would reminisce about the Greenall days . He always scolded me for calling him Mr. Charles after I became an adult, he’d say “ You know you can call me Peter”. I’d say “No, you’re Mr. Charles to me”. He was not successful at teaching me how to speak French well, but he helped me find my confidence and to become more involved in the school community. I will remember him fondly.

Dear Gail and family,
It was with extreme sadness that we learned of Peter passing, our memories take us back so many years, campfires, sharing wine and laughter and Peter;s favorite sport “cross country skiing!” How we had to really encourage him to tag along, he would rather be knitting by the fire or baking bread and he was so very good at both. We were very fortunate to have the cottage next door and our memories with last a lifetime. Rest In Peace our dear friend. David and Elaine alias Sugar and Spice

Peter was one of my teachers in Inuvik and I babysat for he and his wife. When I moved to Regina in 2003 we reconnected and I enjoyed the odd lunch or a glass of wine with him. He also came to see my parents (Ed and Paulene Dugan) when they were in the city and there was always lots of laughter. I was so sad to hear of his passing. He was a good teacher and a great friend. I know he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
