I always looked forward to a conversation with August. He had so much family history, as well as local (Kipling) history, locked up in his brilliant & sharp mind that he was so willing to share. I hope that he managed to document all of this knowledge so that we can refer to it. His obituary captured a couple of things that I fondly remember of him as well: that he was always so very willing to help out anyone in need, and that there was always that twinkle in his stunning blue eyes. The family has lost far too many wonderful members this past 1 1/2 years but I have no doubt in my mind that they are all having a wonderful reunion after August was welcomed past the Pearly Gates. His deep faith was one to be admired as was his kind soul. RIP August.
