Obituary of August Frederick Zepick

On Friday, July 5, 2019, August passed away peacefully in Regina.  He was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan on April 12, 1929, to parents Emmanuel and Bertha Zepick.  He attended a one-room school close to the farm, then worked at various places until 1952 when he started an apprenticeship in carpentry at Balfour Technical School in Regina.  He worked as a carpenter throughout Saskatchewan for the rest of his career. August moved to Regina in 1955 and married Selma Oja in September 1955.

August was predeceased by his wife, Selma; son, Wayne; parents, Emmanuel and Bertha; and brother, Melvin. He is survived by his brother, Gary Zepick of Kipling, Saskatchewan; three children, Susan Eberhard (Keith) of Winnipeg, Rea Cambel of Edmonton, Richard Zepick (Cheryl) of Regina; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

August was active in various aspects of church life.  He was known for his interest in and care for people which often resulted in his quick response to helping others, He had a twinkle in his blue eyes that showed his fun loving nature. August loved to learn, problem solve and create. With an attitude of “measure twice and cut once”, his desire for excellence was always evident.

The family appreciates the loving friendship and care provided by his close friend, Marion Braun.  They are also thankful for the support of the Palliative Care staff.

 Funeral Service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2015 4th Ave. N, Regina SK. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of August Zepick to Lutheran Hour Ministries Canada, 270 Lawrence Ave., Kitchener ON, N2M 1Y4.
