My thoughts and prayers go out to Derrick, Shawn and the entire Lamb family for the loss of Shin and Janet. Janet always loved spending time with her family. She always had a smile on her face and she always had time to talk. Such an inspiration. She will truly be missed.

Sincerest condolences to the Lamb family for the passing of your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I have wonderful memories of Mrs. Lamb (Janet) from summers long ago at the tennis club, at tournaments, and just watching her on court. It was lovely to learn more about her history during the family tributes at the funeral mass this morning. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Our sincere condolences go out to the family of Janet and Shin. I first met your Mother/ Grandmother at evening cooking classes. She was meticulous with the quality of the ingredients, the preparation and the presentation of the food, but most of all she wanted her students to have fun. She knew I was interested in tennis and recommended I join the Lakeshore Tennis Club. After I joined I found out how connected her family was to that sport. Janet was one of the most outgoing members of the club and always found words of encouragement for new members. Together Shin and she raised a fabulous family many of which have contributed to the success of the Lakeshore Tennis Club. She also loved to gamble and it showed when she took home most of the pots during some of our fund raising parties. Annette and I will miss her greatly and will always remember her for the great food, kind words of encouragement and great sportsmanship she promoted.

Our deepest sympathy to the Lamb family. Sorry for your loss of your wonderful mother. She loved all of you so much and gave up her carrier to stay home taking care all of you. She was so proud of all of you and her grand children. Every time I talked to her, she would tell me how successful of all of you and your children. Her love also extended to me by taking care of me while I was in Regina. I missed her smile and her great Chinese cooking.

Janet & Shin were true cornerstones of Lakeshore Tennis. They contributed enormously to the warmth and openness of the club, and will be greatly missed by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing them. I trust they are now having great fun, playing doubles together in their new heavenly home!

I am so sad to hear of Janet’s passing. She was a tie to my Mom as she called me every year and we would re-visit memories and she would check in with me on all my siblings and cousins- wanting news and updates on Drope’s, Spooners and Martins- as well as my own kids and husband. Her friendship with our mom, Pat Drope, was a special one. They played tennis almost every day for years, both so athletic, both loved to play. Janet was a fierce competitor with an even more fierce sense of humour. Her wisdom and loyalty were next to none. She was a wonderful friend to our Mom and I know how much their friendship meant to her as well. She shared with me recipes over the phone- oh my gosh Janet was the best chef, I could never replicate her beef dish- “Janey- you just let it marinate in Italian dressing”- ha! Never tasted like Janet’s! . As I’ve gotten older I really had a chance to appreciate her kindness and sharp wit, as well as her sentimental nature . I will miss hearing her voice and sharing memories and laughs. Much love to her kids and grandkids . She was so proud of all of you.
