Jon and Kevin
We first met the Strickers when Jon and Brendan played on the same hockey team when they were young. For the next two years we would see them regularly often at a hockey rink. We did not see them as often afterwards but whenever we saw Joan she would greet us with her warm infectious smile which would just make your day a little bit better.

My heart is aching for both of you, as well as the rest of your family, and for all the friends who are grieving right now. Joan's infectious personality is visible far and wide in this community... and the community is so very grateful to have had both of you in it, and make it your home, and give back in so many ways. I know Joan will be rewarded for that, although it doesn't make your journey any easier.

We met Joan and Kevin on a biking trip in Italy. When we met and realized we were both from Regina, an instant bond and friendship started. We told stories and had numerous laughs together . We had so much fun that we planned to maintain our friendship and went to the Cayman Islands together with other friends we met on the trip. On our first meeting back in Regina Joan was very open about her struggles with depression. I was amazed that she had depression, cause she was one of the funniest outgoing people I have met. She was always laughing and smiling. I was so shocked and broken hearted when I heard about Joan’s passing, I am thinking of you Kevin and Jon During this tragic time that has taken such a wonderful wife, mother and genuine friend away from all that knew and loved her. Unfortunately we are out of town for the celebration of life, but our hearts will be with you on this special day. May you Rest In Peace Joan in eternal life. I served with Joan on the Board of Celebration Church when she was the Chairperson. She is an amazing lady. I will never forget her blooper on words and her welcoming smile.
