Diane Nagel

Obituary of Diane Valerie Nagel

With sadness, we announce the passing of Diane, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Diane leaves to mourn her husband Ron; son Jeff; daughter Barb (Jason); grandchildren, Natasha (Matt) and Michael (Marissa); and great-grandchildren, Mason and Maxton. She also leaves her brothers, Morley (Jean) and Ralph (Myrna); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family get-togethers were always a highlight in Diane’s life and she enjoyed every family outing to the fullest. She had a zest for travel, especially by motorhome. Many trips to the States in winter were always popular with Diane. She was an excellent navigator and map reader and always knew a day in advance what routes would be coming into play. Diane enjoyed many campouts with friends and folks from the Good Sam Organization.

Diane had a unique sense of humour, naturally very dry and she was good at getting her zingers into play. In life, she worked as an accountant in the family business and after 36 years, Diane retired and spent her time reading all of her precious books.

Unfortunately, five years ago, Diane showed symptoms of Alzheimer’s and began to rely more and more on family for support. Almost three years ago, she entered Riverbend Memory Care Home, where she would spend the rest of her days under the wonderful care of the staff. It soon became her home and the times there were happy. The family are so grateful for all the staff at Riverbend. Their care and concern was beyond words and the many little extra gestures of kindness in her last hours was so much appreciated.

A Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Diane will rest in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers graciously declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
