Obituary of George Heaton Taylor
George, late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the age of 86 year. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Doris (Dee) Taylor. George is survived by his loving spouse of 65 years Audrey Taylor; children, Susan Mitchell (Mark) of Regina, SK, Doug Taylor (Karen) of Saskatoon and Greg Taylor (Tarek) of Toronto; grandchildren, Savannah Soanes (Brett) and great-grandchild Luke; Chelsey Mitchell (Ryan); Alyssa Mitchell and great-grandchild Aeden; Ashton Taylor and Logan Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Winnipeg moving to Kipling, SK at about the age of four. Mom and Dad met at the age of 13 years old while in school and continued on the journey of their lives together over the past 73 years. Dad and Mom have a unique circle of friends that they graduated with in 1950 and to this day are still friends with on regular basis. Dad worked in the Loss Prevention industry for 50 years starting in Winnipeg, then to Edmonton and eventually Regina where Mom and he settled to raise their family. Dad was a quiet and confident man, well respected and always making friends wherever he went with his dry sense of humor. As a father, Dad was always supportive of his kids endeavors, (even when eyebrows were being raised) with a remarkable ability to never criticize but to always guide them in making decisions for themselves. He got such joy in watching his kids develop as adults and in the raising of their own families. Dad will be dearly missed, however he has left a legacy of love and acceptance which we can all learn to live by. A Celebration of Dad’s Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family and friends so wishing are ask to make a donation, In memoriam, to Diabetes Canada @ www.diabetes.ca. The family wishes to thank everyone involved in providing the special care for Dad including all first responders, staff at the Pasqua and Home Care.
