Rodney GLYNN-MORRIS posted a condolence

I was googling David today about memories from Liverpool University Medical School and was very distressed to learn of his death.
He was was so good to me & my father, Mansel, a Family Doctor, for whom he carried out the occasional evening surgery (clinic) in Anfield for him during his Anatomy Demonstrator and Surgical Registrar days.
He was especially kind and understanding when my father was dying of cancer, and was really kind and understanding when my father died just before my final year.
He was very supportive and gave me and my mother such thoughtful advice
My memories of him include his politeness and consideration and his immaculate dress code, especially when wearing a dinner jacket (tuxedo) at a formal dinner or dance, resplendent with the broad scarlet sash of the exclusive Medical or university
Oneophile (wine lover) Society across his broad shoulders.
I wish my Canadian wife and my children could have met him.

I loved this man so much. He was playful, fun and smart as a whip. Many many days spent in David and Vi’s basement bar learning the ropes and life lessons. My heart is broken for you Vi.

The smile says it all. We have only known David a few short years. He certainly knew how to make you comfortable. Although visits were few always enjoyable. He had a great wit and vast knowledge. I will miss our chats and coffee on Wednesday. The pain you feel now will ease and the love you both had will allow you to move on. With

David was like a second father to me growing up. Oh how I loved visiting David and Vi and going down into that wonderful basement that they’d turned into a pub! The stories, the laughing, the wisdom, the fun. David had a great influence on my life as a young man (as did Vi) and I will miss his wit, humour, and intelligence very much. Vi, please know how much I love you and that I’m thinking of you.
