Obituary of Ethel Martha Deck

Ethel passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Regina at the age of 99 years.  She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph and her parents, James and Mattie Ferrier. Ethel is survived by her children, Marian Dimen, Nancy (Mark) Constable, Glenn (Kathy) Deck, and Ray Deck (Patricia Engler); her beloved grandchildren, Gwen Dimen (Jeff Lore), Garth (Lisa) Dimen, Jenna Constable (Jessy Beley), Kristen Constable (Cal Manley), Heather Deck (Justin Bisson), Michael Deck (Alli Day), Robyn Deck and James Deck (Tom Fryer); step-granddaughter, Allison Morgan (Matt Pederson); four great-grandchildren, Emmet, Ellis and Clara Dimen and Anika Lore, (as well as two more on the way); and sisters, Margaret Anderson of Edmonton, AB and May Gillis of Halfmoon Bay, BC. Ethel was born in Cupar, SK on February 3, 1921. She moved to Regina and became a secretary/steno for the federal government. She worked at Unemployment Insurance and Family Allowance offices until she had children. Ethel was a loving and caring mother. She loved to bake and garden and enjoyed annual trips to Waskesiu with Joe. The family would like to thank the staff at Gardiner Point Care Home. A Celebration of Ethel’s life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. A private family interment will take place in the Field of Honor, Riverside Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Street, Regina, SK, S7K 1V9
