Obituary of Eva Yvonne Marie Brecht

Eva, of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the age of 82 years. She was born on April 26, 1937 to George and Blandine Delanoy in Radville, Saskatchewan. Eva was predeceased by her parents; daughter Janet; and siblings Norman and Marcel.  She is survived by her husband Raymond; her four children, Maureen (Russ) Bretell of Lebanon, Tennessee, Carolyn (Merv) Friesen of Calgary, AB, Robert, of Regina, SK and Michele of Calgary, AB; six grandchildren; one great- granddaughter; two sisters, Adele Nimegeers and Judy McFarlane; and two brothers, Larry and Danny. Eva grew up in Radville and enjoyed small town living with her family in a French community. She caught the eye of her husband Ray, while he was working on a road construction project in Radville, and love blossomed. Eva and Ray were married on August 12, 1957 in Radville, and built their first home on Edward St. in Weyburn, and soon started a family. Eva supported Ray and the family while they ventured into Southern Pride Lumber in Weyburn and other business ventures.  After 16 years, they moved to Saskatoon where they lived for one year before moving to Regina for the next 45 years. Eva enjoyed her family, friends, her Church and bowling to keep busy. Regretfully, services are postponed until the Covid-19 quarantine is lifted.  Family and friends so wishing may make memorial donations in memory of Eva to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
