I have memories of time spent at the Beitel household in Earl Grey and was happy to be reacquainted with Mrs. Beitel at Broadway Terrace. She always greeted me like I was one of her own "kids". She still had a photo of Donna and I from back in the day when we won an award for a piano duet at the music festival. I think the award we won should have probably gone to her for having listened to us practice that piece a million times! I am glad to have known her and her family. Leanne (Butz) Wicks

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose your mother, and it must be difficult for all of you to be distanced from each other at this time. She is a very special part of my memories of growing up in Edenwold, when we would all hang out together.

Hi Sharon, Thank you so much for your condolences and your donation. We were very blessed to have her. Janice and mum came out to Australia last year to see all 6 of the great grandchildren so we have so many happy memories. Yes and I can still remember your mum plan as day and remember the sound of her voice. We did have some good times growing up in Edenwold. I hope all of your family are well. Dave, I did not know your mom, I just know you. Judging from the lovely tribute to her in the paper she was a quite a lady. Judging from the things she loved to do and her community involvement I think I can assume she was kind, generous and helpful. Things that she passed on to her son. Kailey, Nina, Misako, and I really enjoyed Great (Awesome) Aunt Marj's surprise visit to Vancouver a few years ago. She, of course, was delighted to be with her sister (Arlene), which allowed us all to bask in her wonderful sense of humour. Her stories and laughter bouyed all our of spirits Her storytelling voice was insightful, caring and really down to earth. I know we will miss that bright light that saw unique ways to encourage us all.
