It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Evelyn Beitel announces her passing in Regina on April 13, 2020.  Born on the family farm near Fairmede, SK on June 5, 1937, Marjorie was 82 years old at the time of her passing.  She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Paul (2017); parents, George and Beatrice (Ramage) Morrow; brothers, Mervin and Clare; in-laws Albert and Catherine (Morhart) Beitel; brothers-in-law Rudy, Al, Martin, Finlay, Ernest; and sisters-in-law Mary and Margaret.  Marjorie is survived by her children: daughter Gailene (Ken) Quadrio, Jody (Kohen, Sasha), Amber (Jaime) (Flynn, Stella, Connie), Todd (Georgia) (Dominic); daughter Donna, Torrey (Maureen); son David (Claudette), Amie (Keegan), Neil (Jannelle), Mark; and daughter Janice (Karl Schroeder) Paige.  Marjorie is also survived by her sister Arlene (Barry); sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Emma, Adela, Marilyn, and Hilda (Johann); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marjorie and Paul were married on May 4, 1957 in Moosomin, SK.  Paul was employed by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. They lived in a number of communities in southern Saskatchewan, spending many years in both Edenwold and Edgeley; following retirement they moved to Regina.  They had four children:  Gailene, Donna, David and Janice.  Marjorie’s interests and activities included:  gardening, spending time at the cottage on Katepwa Lake, her faith in God, shopping, reading, following the Royal Family, history and genealogy, journaling, curling, golfing, figure skating, art, live theatre and music, travelling and vacations. She was always involved in the community in which they lived and her volunteering included canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society and Diabetes Association.  For the past five years she lived at Broadway Terrace in Regina where she enjoyed making new friends while continuing to live an active life.  Marjorie’s family was very important to her and she spent time visiting them, including several trips to Australia and Toronto.  A Prayer Service for the immediate family was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Speers Funeral Chapel.  The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff members at Arbor Oaks Manor for their care and concern for Marjorie during her stay there. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marjorie’s name to: Diabetes Canada, 919B Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6 or to a charity of one’s choice.
